Man arrested for trying to molest daughter-in-law

The Colaba police arrested a 68-year-old man on Wednesday for allegedly trying to molest his daughter-in-law at gunpoint. The authorities say they acted on the complaint of the 23-year-old victim, a resident of Colaba. According to the complaint, the father-in-law, owner of two restaurants in Mumbai Central, allegedly tried to molest her when her husband was not at home and threatened to shoot her if she did not comply.

The police added that they have sent the man's fingerprints to verify if he has a criminal past and are investigating further. He was produced in court and remanded to two days police custody. "The woman was alone at home with her child when the father-in-law allegedly caught her and tried to molest her. We arrested him after the woman complained to us," said an officer from Colaba police station.
