Four days after the arrest of two people involved in the Dindoshi acid attack case, the third accused Sarfaraz Ansari, an employee of the same bangle factory where victim Chandan Singh worked, has been remanded in police custody. Ansari was arrested after acid burn marks on his hands led to suspicion. He was produced before the Borivli court on Monday and will be held in police custody till December 12.

According to Dindoshi police sources, Ansari was there with the family after the acid attack. "He was pretending to be supportive and was with the family at the hospital as well," said a police officer.
Speaking to mid-day, another cop said, "Ansari has been working in the factory for the past 10 years. He used to visit the house of the Singh couple quite often to meet Chandni. As Singh did not like it, he complained about it to the factory owner and Ansari's father as well."

According to police sources, Ansari confessed to the crime and said that the acid was taken from the bangle factory. Cops recovered the empty can from the factory. Deputy commissioner of police, zone 12, Kiran Kumar Chavan said, "We have concrete evidence against Ansari, but we are trying to find out the role of the other two accused who were arrested earlier. The matter is being investigated further."
