It seems that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has forgotten it had demolished the Andheri traffic police chowky on Western Express Highway (WEH) in November to ease traffic congestion.
Last week, they erected a triangular garden that dons the Make in India lion just 20-30 feet away from the old chowky.
A regular commuter and Andheri resident, Hiorendra Pachkale, said, "The earlier chowky, which was on corner of the circle, and didn't cause much traffic. This new triangle is a hindrance at the junction of the highway and the signal will create traffic issues."
A traffic constable, on condition of anonymity, said, "The decision is of the senior authorities. But, it would have been better if the triangle wasn't constructed here."
