"The city's disaster management cell conducted fire safety audit thrice between February 11 and 14 (the day of event)," he told mid-day on Friday.

Fadnavis said that an eight-page audit document on disaster plan was prepared before the event.

When asked whether he would call for an investigation in the fire by independent officers, Fadnavis said he had not thought about it. "Let the ongoing probe take us to some conclusion first," he said.

The CM said he hasn't discussed anything related to the probe as yet with officials concerned because he had been busy with the Make in India week programme. "I was out on an official tour of some districts today, and hence couldn't find time to go through whatever developments have happened in the probe so far."

However, sources close to the CM said that the interim findings of the probe have established that pyrotechnic machines were one of the primary reasons for the fire.
