Foundation of friendship
This comes ahead of the setting up of a Jewish heritage museum in Mumbai, the primary aim of which is to 'record and document the heritage and future of the Jewish community in Maharashtra'. According to Jhirad, the Maharashtra government had decided to grant the foundation a piece of land for setting up the Ben Israel Memorial and Convention Center in Awas village, off the coast of Mumbai.
"A few years ago, the Talkar family used to have this very beautiful house in Awas, which is in Raigad district. I have met one of the family's descendants, Nissim Moses, and we are together setting up this museum and renovating the property the family used to own. All of this will be happening under the leadership and guidance of the CM of Maharashtra," Jhirad added.
