Mumbai: 'Maha Suryakumbh', a project promoting solar power as a substitute to conventional energy has been launched by NGO Keshav Srushti along with Professor Rajendra Singh Oorja Abhiyaan (PRSOA).
The 'Maha Suryakumbh' will be held at the NGO's premises in Maharashtra's Thane district in January 2015 where thousands of children will cook together on solar cookers, a release here said.
Suryakumbh, the earlier initiative by Keshav Srushti held in Thane, was intended to spark a revolution and transform the large pool of students into leaders who are aware, inspired and empowered, it said.
Since 2011, they have motivated over 8,500 participants, who have experienced the joy of solar cooking and have in turn shared the concept with several others, the release said.
