Alleging corruption in road development projects, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Monday launched the party's 'Road and Infrastructure Development Cell' to keep a close watch on the projects.
"People's money have been misused due to corruption in the development projects and politicians are responsible for it. So, the cell will monitor and point out any misdeeds in the projects," Raj said.
Referring to the much-delayed Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Raj said the work of the bridge was started by his uncle and Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray 10 years back.
"The cost of the project was Rs 300-350 crore then which has now raised to Rs 1,300-1,400 crore," he said.

Small works like road repair and paver blocks maintenance are also not free from corruption and ultimately citizens face difficulty while using the road, he said.
Raj also appealed to people to inform the cell, any delay or corruption in the public works.
