The BMC demolished the roof that was constructed at Cafe Bandra, as the area was meant to be an open-air space
Days after the BMC bulldozed through restaurants that had encroached on open spaces or built illegal extensions, things seem have gone back to square one. Most of the eateries have taken over the open spaces yet again, with some of them boldly constructing new structures at the same spot. The BMC claims that this does not amount to encroachment, and that the restaurants have permission to serve in open spaces.
