Ramsay Brothers complain that a beer bar in their compound, which allegedly doubles up as a pick-up joint, is a huge impediment to their sons' marriage
THE Ramsay Brothers, best known for sending chills down the nation's spine through their horror movies and television serials, are now living in terror of eternal singledom themselves or at least their sons are.
Ironically, though, the reason behind their discomfiture is a beer bar located in their building which allegedly doubles up as a pick-up joint.
Two years ago, the family registered a complaint (copy with MiD DAY) with Home Minister R R Patil, the then commissioner of police, then additional commissioner of police (South Region) and the D B Marg police station calling for an end to the use of Junction beer bar on Lamington Road as a pick-up joint.
The family had complained that 'shamelessly-dressed' call girls exited from the back of the bar and into their building on their way out, making it difficult for them to call guests.
One of the brothers reportedly even shifted to Lokhandwala before his son's marriage because the bride's family did not want her to live in a building frequented by call girls.
"I have complained several times to the home department and to the police but illegal activities are still on. I have seen police vans coming to the bar several times and returning without taking any action against the owners," said Dharam Ramsay, son of Arjun, who is one of the brothers.
"I am worried about my future now. I am thinking about getting married but I'm afraid that no one would want their daughter to stay in this building because of the activities that take place in the bar," he added Dharam.

ACP (south region) Naval Bajaj said, "As per my knowledge, no illegal activities are going on in the area and the deputy commissioner of police and the local police are doing the best they can. I will, however, look into the matter."
