If all goes according to plan, by December this year motorists will be able to cut down on travel time, as they commute from Bandra Kurla Complex to Chunabhatti.
On the Eastern Express highway, the elevated connector will cut travel time from 30 minutes to less than 10 minutes. Metropolitan commissioner UPS Madan said, "Work on the BKC-Chunnabhatti connector is going on in full swing. We are confident that by December 2018 we will be able to throw it open for motorists."
Currently, motorists get stuck at the traffic near Sion Circle and also on Sion-Dharavi Link Road. The 1.6kilometre-long connector will start at G-Block in BKC, go across Mithi river, followed by LBS Marg, CR track, before it meets the Eastern Express Highway.
