A day after mid-day reported about manholes being left open near a landing of the Mrinal Gore flyover at Goregaon on the Western Express Highway, officials from the PWD have said they have covered three of the four. "We will be covering the last one on June 30," said a PWD official.

PWD officials had claimed that the manhole covers either get stolen or break down due to vehicles being parked on them.
The manholes are parallel to the flyover's landing on the Western Express Highway. There is also insufficient streetlight on the spot. The first open manhole is barely a feet away from the end of the flyover. As the level of the road and manhole is same, it could become dangerous at night especially when it is raining.
"It is good that the issue was highlighted, else it could have proved dangerous," said Preeti Shankar, whose office is on the WEH.
