In order to avoid a clash with the state elections, scheduled for October 15, the Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) changed the date of the HSC paper of English Literature to October 20

Owing to the state elections, which are scheduled to be held on October 15, the Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced a change in their September-October board exam session. The state board secretary announced that the HSC paper of English Literature, which was originally supposed to be held on October 15, will now be held on October 20 instead.

"None of the SSC examinations were getting affected by the election dates, so we only changed the exam date of one subject from HSC. We had anyway left some buffer days in anticipation of the elections so making changes to the time-table was not difficult," said a senior state board representative.

The September-October session of the state board exams for HSC candidates starts on September and was supposed to end on October 18. however, this one exam will now push the last day of examination to October 20.
