Kandivli-based restaurateur Rakesh Shetty had recorded the video on May 11 during his visit to the police station to register a complaint against a local builder for allegedly issuing threats to him and his family.

Commenting on the issue, Shetty said, "I am convinced that what I witnessed that day was orchestrated. The couple was used as pawns and deliberately subjected to such brutality so that I get intimidated and refuse to pursue the matter against builder Santosh Sawant. However, I went ahead and registered an FIR against the builder and even sought police protection for my family, including me."

He accused Sawant of using pressure tactics so that he gives away his prime property (3,845 sq ft) near Ganesh Mandir at Vazira Naka at a throwaway price of Rs 50 lakh against its current market value of at least Rs 10 crore.
