Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vasant Dhoble, infamous for misplacing crucial information relating to Dawood Ibrahim, is in the news for all the wrong reasons again. A restaurateur has accused the senior cop of assault. Bandra-based hotelier Yusuf Gulamnabi Bhure (64) filed a complaint against Dhoble which stated that the ACP beat him severely, due to which Bhure sustained injuries in his left ear.
According to the complaint (a copy of which is with Sunday MiD DAY) Bhure, a resident of Humera Park, Malad (east), can no longer hear from that ear.
On December 5, Bhure said, he was sitting at the cash counter of his brother's restaurant Mughalsarai, located near the Bandra railway station. At 6pm, Dhoble reached the restaurant, and asked Bhure to show him property documents. The cop allegedly got angry and slapped Bhure, who fell down unconscious and began to bleed from his left ear.
Bhure was taken to Cooper Hospital, where the doctors found that he had lost his hearing capacity in his left ear. (A copy of the medical report is with this paper.)
Manohar Dalvi, spokesperson for the Mumbai police said he will "check about the incident", while Dhoble was unavailable for comment.
