Gurbir Singh, President, Press Club of Mumbai, said, "The police officials haven't been handling the case well. The police had put some allegations on Charu's character during their interrogation with the family. Instead of finding the truth, they have been speaking in favour of the accused Tata officials.
They suggest that Charu had applied for a job at Axis bank and committed suicide because he was rejected, which is utter rubbish. We hope RR Patil, Minister of Home, intervenes and look into this matter."
Deshpande had hanged himself in his Vasai home on June 28 last year. His death had triggered allegations on a Tata official, Prabhat Sharma, after a few notes made by him were discovered. So far, no charge-sheet has been filed against him.
