early last year, Javed Rizvi, a fraudster and master of many disguises, conned Shakeel Kazmi, into parting with Rs 4 lakh after Rizvi convinced him that he would use his contacts to land him a well-paying job in Australia.
"When I insisted that he return my money, he smoothly handed me some post-dated-cheques and disappeared without a trace."
In Nashik, Rizvi promised double the interest banks were offering on deposits, and disappeared after collecting substantial amounts.
The duped people reached his flat in Mumbai on July 10 and found that he had left a day earlier and burnt all incriminating documents.

Police speaksSenior police inspector Dhanraj Vadunjkar of Nashik police station said, "We are in constant touch with our counterparts in Pune, Kalamboli, Mumbai, Satara and Sangli to trace Rizvi, who has cheated several people to the tune of crores."
