The BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has disconnected water supply at Bandra Terminus station

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has disconnected water supply at Bandra Terminus station.

Railway sources said that the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has proposed to undertake major alteration work of trunk pipeline, thereby, affecting the water supply to Bandra Terminus station and Bandra Yard till November 21.

Due to the alteration work, the water supply will be discontinued with immediate effect, upto completion of the work. "The paucity of water will create water shortage at the station premises and also affect the cleaning and watering of trains originating from Bandra Terminus," said Sharat Chandrayan, Chief PRO, Western Railway.

The Western Railway has made arrangements for watering of trains at Surat and Valsad stations; however, due to constraints in availability of water and other infrastructure at these locations, watering in some trains may be affected. Over the last few days there are already issues with the availability of bottled water at railway stations.
