The idea behind the initiative is mainly to reach out to sports persons, who are lagging behind, due to a lack of access to proper infrastructure
In a bid to help sports persons from rural areas realise their dreams, Bharatiya Janata Party's youth wing has decided to take Central government's 'Khelo India' initiative to every corner of the country. The idea behind the initiative is mainly to reach out to sports persons, who are lagging behind, due to lack of infrastructure.
Speaking to mid-day, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) secretary and in-charge of Ratnagiri district Ashish Raut said, "We want to make even a small village of the country a part of the 'Khelo India' initiative. India has a lot of talented people, but in the absence of proper facilities, they fail to fulfill their dreams. We will try to ensure that people at the ground level benefit from the initiative." He further said, "Next year we plan to organise a big cultural and sports event. We are conducting awareness campaigns to sensitise people about the government scheme."
"We organised Modifest, through which the government's achievements were highlighted. The government has done a lot of things in the past four years, but many people don't know about it.
Hence, they fail to avail the benefits of various schemes," he added.
