Congress likely to nominate TV actress to attract Gujarati votes
The Assembly elections will be held on October 13 and among the many unlikely candidates who have thrown their hat in the ring is Ketki Dave.
The television actress is likely to be the Congress candidate from Borivli and will be pitted against BJP's Gopal Shetty.
A Congress party activist who refused to be named said, "Ketki's name has almost been finalised for the Borivli constituency.
Ketki and Nirupam became friends when they participated in Bigg Boss-2, a reality show on television.

The former also campaigned for Nirupam in Borivli during the Lok Sabha elections.
Another Congress leader said, "Looking at the pattern of voting during the Lok Sabha polls, we have realised that a majority of Maharashtrian votes that were earlier with the Shiv Sena-BJP will go to the MNS.
Ketki's candidature will help the Congress capture Gujarati votes in Borivli."
'I don't know'
Ketki, however, dismissed the claims. "I have not spoken to anybody on this matter. I don't understand on what basis you are saying this," she said.
When asked whether the Congress has approached her, she said, "I don't know." Shetty says he too has heard about Ketki's political entry.

"We live in a democracy and anybody can contest the elections.
But people will only vote for the person who has done something for Borivli. The Congress's agenda maybe to defeat me, but my agenda is the development of Borivli."

When contacted, Nirupam said, "Your information is premature."
Who's Ketki?
Ketki Dave is a well-known TV and theatre actress. She is famous for playing Daksha in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi
Bahu Thi. She also played Saif Ali Khan's mother in Kal Ho Naa Ho.
