Far from being an unwanted child, Ansh is now hugely popular with hundreds of people who have been following his miraculous rescue.
At the hospital, he is cared for round the clock by a posse of paediatric nurses, who came together to take one last picture with him yesterday after they heard that he might be discharged.

However, the newborn will likely remain in hospital a while longer, since the doctors want to see him recover properly before he leaves.
