An assistance police commissioner has been transferred to the control room owing to poor supervision of a false case against a builder. On October 17, last year, a case was registered at Turbhe MIDC police station against Metro Builders for forging documents of a plot at Nerul. Sub-inspector Sanjay Yadav, who was investigating the case in ACP Kiran Patil's jurisdiction, arrested builder Suresh Jain. Jain then wrote to Navi Mumbai police commissioner Hemant Nagarale, seeking an inquiry, claiming that the case against him was false.
Following the CP's orders, ACP Patil conducted another inquiry, where it was found that Jain's arrest was illegal. CP Nagarale then suspended Yadav last week. Inquiry revealed that ACP Patil's poor supervision resulted in a false case being registered. "We found that the conduct of the ACP was illegal and against the procedures. An administrative inquiry has been initiated," said Nagarale.
