24-year-old jumps from the terrace of six-storey building
Vivan Krishna Bhandarkar (24), a second year MBA student allegedly committed suicide yesterday by jumping from the terrace of his six-floor Ashit Building in Juhu Koliwada.
Police probing the case said was under depression for one year and had been under going psychiatric treatment for the past two months.
No suicide note
According to Firoz Pathan, sub inspector, Santacruz police station, "Vivan has not left behind a suicide note, but we suspect he committed suicide out of frustration."
However, a police official who wished to remain anonymous said, "Vivan used to be alone all the time, as he had a breakup. He did not mingle with any of his friends."
The official added that they got to know about the love affair from messages on Vivan's mobile phone.
Investigating officials have recorded the statement of the victim's father Krishna Bhandarkar in which he said, "He used to stay alone and hardly spoke to us at home.
He would shout at us if we entered his room without his permission. He was a lover of painting and music."
Police have also recorded the statement of a neighbour, who heard Vivan fall to his death.
Police are investigating the case under section 174 (unnatural deaths) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
