A 69-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed revolver on September 3. The incident came to light when his 33-year-old son returned home from work at around 9 pm that day and found the door locked from inside.
Suspecting something amiss, he along with the domestic help broke open the window to get into the house. They found the deceased, Rasheid Taleyarkhan, lying dead on the floor. Taleyarkhan's neighbours and relatives then informed the Gamdevi police.
Taleyarkhan was a stockbroker and lived in Permilian House in Breach Candy. His full-time domestic help was in his quarters on the first floor of the building and the driver was near the car when the incident took place. His son Jamie runs a computer programming business.
