Maharshtra on Saturday recorded fewer than 3,000 COVID-19 cases, even as Mumbai's city's numbers also continued to be on the lower side, at less than 500. On Saturday, Maharashtra recorded 2,630 new cases, taking the total tally up to 20.23 lakh cases, since the pandemic hxit the state in March 2020.

The total number of COVID-related deaths in the state stood at 42, taking the number to 51,042 and mortality rate to 2.52 per cent. While Mumbai recorded 429 cases, Thane Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan Dombivli Corporation, recorded 74, 64 and 79 cases respectively.

The state's recovery rate now stands at 95.23 per cent with 1,535 patients having been discharged across the state on Thursday, alone. Mumbai's recovery rate also stands at 94 per cent. The doubling rate is currently at 556 days. The city's daily growth rate in the last one week has been just 0.12 per cent. The city has 5,567 active cases.

Pune recorded 11 deaths, followed by Mumbai, which saw seven COVID-19 deaths.
