A four-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her male drawing teacher and a female teacher in the toilet of a Nalasopara-based school on July 8.

On Saturday morning, parents protested against the school, wanting action. Now, the Tulinj police have registered a complaint against the teachers. The incident allegedly occurred inside Saint Aloysius High School. The survivor is not clear on the exact time of the assault, but told the police that the teachers had taken her to a toilet in the school, partially disrobed her and assaulted her. Police have not yet arrested the accused. Palghar District Superintendent of Police K Kokate said, "When the girl returned home, she was crying and then narrated the whole incident to her parents. The same day, the child's parents complained to the cops, but said they would first take up the matter with the school and only later register a formal complaint with the police."
On the same day, the Tulinj police recorded the parents' statement, but did not register the case. Later, the parents met the school authoritie, who allegedly refused to take any action against the accused.

On Friday morning, the child's parents along with parents of other student, protested against the school authorities demanding action against the accused. More than 200 parents had gathered.
Kokate added, "We have registered a case under Section 376 (rape) and the POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. We will investigate the matter."
The school refused to comment.
