4 MNS workers held for allegedly raping minor

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by four MNS workers in suburban Andheri, police said on Saturday. The accused, Ganesh Gatkal (29), Ganesh Kale (30), Narendra Salunkhe (26) and Umesh Borande (28), were arrested on Friday evening, they said.

According to the police, the victim and her elder sister was walking on Marol-Maroshi Road on late Friday evening when a vehicle stopped before them.

The four accused dragged them inside and drove to watchman's quarters of Bharti garden, where the teenager was sexually assaulted. Her sister managed to escape, police said. She was then left in a pitiful condition.

After the victim's family reported the incident in the MIDC's police station, police arrested all the four alleged rapists on Friday. The four arrested rapists are MNS workers.

After the police interrogation it was found out that, MNS workers had also made an MMS of the rape and had intimidated the girl to not to tell her family.

Police have registered the case and have charged the culprits for raping a minor.

Reacting to the story, MNS chief Raj Thackery said, "All four of them have submitted their resignation and I have accepted it immediately. Apart from that, whatever action will be taken against them will be legal."
