Nazir Mohammed Faki, a relative of notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim, and a key fugitive wanted in connection with the shootout at JJ hospital in 1992, is believed to have been apprehended in another country. The horrific incident was orchestrated by Dawood as an act of revenge for the murder of Ismail Parkar, the husband of his sister Haseena.
Intelligence agencies haven't disclosed precise details about the operation, but a senior police officer confirmed that they have requested that a red-corner notice (RCN) be issued in connection with the case.
Just last week, the RCN was indeed issued in his name, and sources indicate that deportation proceedings may soon be initiated.

Faki had been residing in Pakistan alongside Dawood and Chhota Shakeel, and recent revelations point to his involvement in the 1993 Bombay bombings. His potential deportation is expected to provide valuable insights into the operations of the infamous D gang, headquartered in the neighbouring country.
According to Mumbai police sources, he is the key figure in the shootout that transpired precisely 31 years ago. Faki played a role in both planning and executing the shootout, followed by sheltering the accused involved. He allegedly provided refuge to the accused in his native village of Khed in Ratnagiri. Faki is the younger brother of another accused, Raheem Mohammed Faki, who is believed to be the mastermind of the shootout. Raheem is the brother-in-law of Ismail Parkar.
Ismail Parkar was shot dead by members of the Arun Gawli gang in 1992 near his residence. His alleged killers, Shailesh Haldankar and Bipin Shere, were subsequently apprehended by the public and later taken to JJ hospital by the police.
On September 12, D gang members, including Brijesh Singh a shooter, stormed the hospital with AK-47 rifles, firing over 500 rounds, resulting in the death of Haldankar and two police constables. The second killer managed to escape from the hospital. This marked the first known use of AK-47 rifles by the D gang. Numerous suspects and D gang members were arrested in connection with the case, but Faki had been on the run since then.

An officer stated, "He was taking shelter in Pakistan after the 1993 bombings, and his involvement has also surfaced in the blasts case." Officials have told mid-day that intelligence agencies had been monitoring his movements as he travelled to foreign countries using fake identities.
