The 30-year-old Prakash Prajapati, who got injured in a hit-and-run accident, succumbed to injuries on Friday.
On July 13, mid-day had reported about Prakash Prajapati (30), and his pillion rider Nitish Prajapati, 19, who had to first negotiate the potholes on the road leading to an unmanned junction at Fatherwadi in Vasai East. A stationary tempo - parked illegally on the busy stretch connecting the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway to Vasai - obstructed the biker's vision on the right side.
While speaking to mid-day, Lalit Prajapati, brother of Prakash, said, "He was on the ventilator for the past 10 days. He succumbed to injuries today."
Valiv Police Station's Senior PI Kailas Barve confirmed the death. "Prakash had succumbed to injuries. Once we complete all the legal procedures, we will add IPC section 304 ( death by negligence) against the alleged accused Anuj Shrivastava," said Barve.
