Adding to the growing incidents of crime against women in the city, a 22-year-old woman was sexually harassed on the busy KEM Hospital Road by two persons yesterday. The incident occurred around 9.30 am when the victim was on her way to office.
Narrating her ordeal, she said, "I was on my way to the nearest bus stop to take a bus to office. A man was parking his bike, while another was standing next to him outside the hospital. As I was about to pass them, one of them grabbed my hand and told me âAana gaadi par baith, tujhe chhod deta hu. (Come sit on my bike, I will drop you)'. This scared the daylights out of me and I ran away after pushing him. I immediately called my brother for help."
Her brother, along with a few friends, rushed to the spot and caught hold of one of the accused, while his accomplice managed to escape.
A police constable present in the area helped the victim and her brother reach the Bhoiwada police station, where the accused was handed over to the officials. He was identified as Imran Sheikh (26).
