A 22-year-old man committed suicide inside a toilet at the Andheri Metro station
A 22-year-old man committed suicide inside a toilet at the Andheri Metro station. The deceased is said to have come to Mumbai from Gujarat on Thursday after sparring with his family back home. According to police officials, the man has been identified as Paresh Parmar, a resident of Ankleshwar, Gujarat.
A police officer from Andheri police station said, "Parmar lost his father when he was a child. He was living with his mother, brother and sister-in-law. After completing his Std X, he started driving an auto-rickshaw. He used to have a lot of fights with his family, mainly with his sister-in-law."
After another heated argument with his sister-in-law, Parmar left his home and came to Mumbai. On Saturday night he went into the toilet at the Andheri Metro station and hanged himself with a short rope, from a water pipe in the ceiling.
âClear case of suicide'
A police officer said, "A cleaner found his body when he went to the washroom. He informed us about it. We found a suicide note blaming his family members for the suicide. His body was taken to the Cooper Hospital for a post mortem and we have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter. It is a clear case of suicide."
Parmar also mentioned in the note that he loved his family. He was ending his life also because he was unable to get a proper job. The officer added, "We have tracked his family and they are in Mumbai. Their statements are very important. We may even arrest them for abetment of suicide. Further investigations are on."
