13-year-old Mumbai girl gang-raped by boyfriend, friends

The teenager, in her complaint, said that on Tuesday she had stepped out of her house to meet her boyfriend, who is one of the accused, and after spending the day with him, she was sexually assaulted by him and his two friends on Thursday.u00a0

The accused have been identified as Vishwash Waghmore (18), Surat Bhadwe (19) and Avinash Sadapule (21). Police said the victim told them that Waghmore was her boyfriend.

The girl, however, has told cops that she has no recollection of the places she went to with her boyfriend on Wednesday. She also alleged that the trio took advantage of her situation.

Police officials said after the victim failed to return home on Tuesday, her parents had filed a missing persons complaint at Chembur police station.

Prahlad Panaskar, senior police inspector from Chembur police station, said, "The girl had gone out with Waghmore on June 18, telling her parents that she is going to meet her friends. But since she did not return home that day, her parents registered a ‘missing person' complaint at the police station. The girl came home on June 20, and after her parents questioned her about her whereabouts, she narrated the entire incident to the them."

"The victim has been saying that on June 19 she roamed around with Waghmore the whole day, but she is unable to name the places she went to with him. The gang rape occurred on June 20, and investigations are going on," added Panaskar.

The three accused have been booked under sections 376 (G) (gang rape) and 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code.u00a0
