Late Sunday evening, a huge python, almost 10 feet long, was caught at the railway container yard near the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road by a team from the Save Wildlife Organisation.
Speaking to mid-day, Sameer Thavai, a member of the rescue team, said, "We received a call from a Mulund resident who said that he and his neighbours had spotted a huge snake in the area. We rushed to the site and found the python, that looked particularly large, lying on the road."

The rescue team reached the site without wasting time as the python was on the road and could have been run over by a speeding vehicle. Also, there was the possibility of the snake attacking onlookers who had gathered to gape at it.
"After the rescue, we took the snake to the Thane forest office and handed it over to the officials so that they could drop off the reptile at a safe place."
