The Gadchiroli police on Sunday apprehended four naxal supporters with huge explosives which were allegedly used by the Naxals during the coming Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign (TCOC) period.
The gang of Naxal supporters possessed cordtex wire measuring around 3500 meters. These wires are used in mining activities and explosives.
According to the confidential information received by the police, an anti-Naxal operation was executed by the SPS Damrancha Post party and QRT Damrancha under the leadership of PSI Sachin Ghodke. During the operation, a gang of four Naxal supporters transporting explosives in large quantities was intercepted at Bhangarampetha village within the limits of SPS Damrancha under Sub-division Jimalgatta.

The accused - identified as Raju Gopal Salla (31) resident of Telangana, Kashinath alias Ravi Mulla Gawade (24) resident of Bhangarampetha, Sadhu Lachha Talandi (30) and Mohammad Kasim Shadullah resident of Telangana. "One suspect named Chotu alias Sinnu Mulla Gawade fled from the spot. A search operation has been initiated for the same," Ankit Goyal, SP, Gadchiroli said.
"The gang was transporting these explosives from Telangana to Chhattisgarh" Goyal added. In total, 10 bundles of cordtex wire measuring 3,500 meters along with four suspects were recovered.
He further said, in the Gadchiroli district, Naxals use a variety of counterfeit weapons and explosives to carry out acts of violence. "The cordtex wire seized from Naxal supporters is widely used to make Naxal-made Barrel Grenade Launchers, hand grenades, and IEDs. The explosives were to be used extensively by the Naxalites during the coming TCOC period."
