A family of six killed their 27-year-old neighbour over loud construction noises at the victim's house. The ghastly incident took place in Ambernath on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old victim has been identified as Rizwan Shaikh, who worked as a driver in Qatar. He had come on a short break to visit his ill mother. The family was constructing a new toilet. It was the noise of this construction that led to a feud between Shaikh and his neighbours.
The neighbouring family of five initiated a brawl against Shaikh, ultimately leading to his death. As per a report in the Hindustan Times, senior police inspector from the Ambernath police station, B Wagh is quoted as having said, "This led to a heated argument and bouts of fisticuffs. The other family members joined the fight. One of the accused got a knife and stabbed Shaikh in his chest. Shaikh was also beaten up severely."
