Nalasopara driver held for molesting 9-yr-old girl, faces 18 such cases

The Kashimira police have arrested a 30-year-old driver on the charge of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl. Accused Kalpesh Devdhare faces at least 18 more such cases across the city, they said. Crime Branch Unit-I of MBVV police commissionerate formed teams after the child’s family filed a complaint at Nayanagar police station in Mira Road on April 18. It was alleged that an unknown man had taken the girl to an isolated place and raped her.

 

British woman working in embassy molested at club in Bandra; accused held

Police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a 44-year-old British woman at a club in suburban Bandra, an official said on Friday. The incident occurred around 11.30 pm on Tuesday, when the woman, who works in the British embassy, had gone to the club with her husband and friends, he said.

Man dupes job aspirants posing as Maharashtra energy minister's nephew, case registered

Mumbai Police has registered a case against a man posing as the nephew of Maharashtra energy minister Nitin Raut and allegedly duping 11 people on the pretext of providing them jobs in the electricity department. A manhunt to nab the accused has been launched.

MNS leader's driver held for rash driving that caused injury to woman constable

Police have arrested the driver of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Sandeep Deshpande here for "rash driving", which allegedly resulted in minor injury to a woman police constable, an official said on Friday. The driver was arrested by Shivaji Park police station in central Mumbai on Thursday evening, he said.

Mumbai: 3 get life for killing security guard during theft at temple in Borivli

Three burglars who killed a security guard at a Jain temple in Borivli to steal the idols in 2010, were sentenced to life imprisonment on Saturday. Four of their associates were acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence, while two other accused died during the trial.
