Unfaithfulness is tough to handle and some people harbour too much anger and resentment after they feel cheated in a relationship. The feeling sometimes turns into uncontrollable rage and people end up committing a serious crime against their partner. Here are instances of murderous crimes committed as a result of extramarital affairs gone wrong

Wife plots murder of Sena leader

A woman enlisted the help of a local shopkeeper and his accomplices to kidnap and murder her husband, a Shiv Sena leader. She was afraid that her husband would leave her and their children for his mistress. On the night of the murder, when the victim fell asleep in the night, his wife switched off the lights at home as a signal for the hitmen. The attackers crept into the house and strangled the Sena man in his sleep and then dumped his body and car away in a forest. Five days later, the partially burnt body of the man was found in Shahpur in Thane and the victim was identified with the help of the car's licence plate. When the cops went to the victim's house to inquire about his whereabouts, his wife said he had been missing the entire night. Cops wondered why she hadn't reported him missing. They also found her sleeping children locked in a room. When they took her to see the body, she identified it as her husband even before taking a proper look. The cops got suspicious about the wife's involvement and the final clincher was the Call Detail Records (CDR). The victim's phone revealed his affair and the wife's motive, while her phone records led the cops to the shopkeeper and on further interrogation, the wife confessed to her crime

A businessman who wanted to marry another woman killed his 25-year-old wife and his eight-month-old son by paying his girlfriend to plan the murder and kill his family. After the murders, the husband rushed to police claiming a dacoit had killed them and robbed cash and jewellery worth of Rs 3.50 lakh. The accused had been married to the victim for two years, and at the time of the incident, the woman and her son were at her maternal home. On their return, the accused had gone to pick them up in his car, and soon he acted as though he wanted to throw up. He then stopped the car in an isolated area and got off the vehicle. The three men he had hired, then attacked the woman and her child, slitting their throats

Professor murders wife

A professor from Jhunjhunwala College in Ghatkopar, who suspected his wife of having an extra-marital affair, murdered her and later, tried to slit his throat and wrist. The professor suspected his wife of having an extra-marital affair and it would often lead to fights between the couple. Preliminary police probe indicated that the duo had an argument, one morning, that turned violent. The professor allegedly smothered the woman to death and then called up his elder son and confessed to committing the crime. The boy immediately rushed home, only to find his mother lying lifeless on the bed and his father, in a pool of blood on the floor

A teenager allegedly punched his two-month-old son to death on the suspicion that the child was born out of an extra-marital affair. The incident took place when the mother went out to look for a job, leaving the child with his father. When she returned home, she found the baby lying motionless and her husband was nowhere to be seen. She took him to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The woman then informed the police, who apprehended, her husband, a 17-year-old boy. Man kills father, hides body under the bed

A senior citizen was killed by his son because he was angry with the victim for leaving his mother. According to the police who handled the case, the senior citizen had walked out of his wife's life 18 years ago as he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair with a friend. However, the son (accused) was bitter about the fact that his mother was abandoned and he held a grudge against his father ever since. Matters became worse days before the crime was committed when the son and his mother were abused by the victim, who also questioned the woman's character. Angered by this, the man returned with a friend and murdered his father. The case came to light when two men approached a lawyer under the pretext of seeking bail for their friend who they claimed had murdered his father and wanted to surrender. The lawyer alerted the cops, who reached a housing society in Borivli and broke open the door of a flat and found the decomposed body of the victim under the bed. Suspecting that his wife was having an affair, a Shahapur resident brutally killed her by INSERTing a broken alcohol bottle inside her vagina and then strangulating her. The Shahapur police, who found the wbody, registered an FIR for rape and murder and arrested the accused. The man didn't have a job due to alcoholism and the woman used to work in a factory. On the day of the murder the man took her to an isolated spot, raped her and then INSERTed a broken bottle into her vagina to kill her. He stabbed her with the bottle three-four times anused her saree to strangle her

The couple had a heated argument at home and in a fit of rage, the man allegedly attacked the woman with an axe. As per the police, the man was a drunkard and did odd jobs for a living. Brother-in-law stabs 33-year-old sister-in-law to death

Initial reports suggested that the gruesome murder was a result of an extramarital affair gone wrong. The victim, a married woman was having an affair with her brother-in-law. The two met at a resort in Aksa and later the woman's naked body was discovered in a pool of blood and the man was missing. The accused was eventually arrested and he told the cops that he was not the only man in the victim's life and that she had extramarital affairs with multiple men. As per sources, the accused had received videos of the victim engaging in sexual acts with other people, something that bothered him. The accused said, on the day of the incident the two had sexual intercourse and he went onto the bathroom to wash up. When he returned the victim pulled out a knife from her bag and tried to attack the accused because she had realised that he knew about her affairs and did not want him to tell her husband. The accused said that in the scuffle that followed, he fatally stabbed the woman.

A man, who returned from Dubai after two years, allegedly killed his wife after suspecting that she was in an illicit relationship. As per the police, upon the man's return from Dubai, he was infuriated when he saw a five-month-old baby on her lap at home. This led to an argument and he stabbed his wife to death

A 37-year-old man allegedly murdered his live-in partner after he suspected her of having an affair with someone else. The victim's body was found four days after the murder. The neighbours complained to the police about a foul smell from her house and when the cops broke open the door, they found the woman's body. According to the cops, the accused thought that his partner was cheating on him and they both had a fight about it. In a fit of rage, the man murdered her, covered the body with a blanket and left in the wee hours of the morning. He locked the house telling his neighbours that he was going to his hometown to celebrate Diwali.

A small-time model and bar dancer was beheaded by her boyfriend in Timba village near Surat. The victim was a resident of Bhatinda, Punjab and the accused had developed a relationship with her as he used to frequently visit dance bars in Mumbai. The victim had gone to Timba to visit the accused and the duo even spent the accused's birthday together on December 27th, 2017. The duo travelled to Mumbai on December 28th the same year, to celebrate New Year's where they stayed at a hotel in Mira Road. They then returned to Timba on Monday and then proceeded to his farm on Tuesday. Once the accused took the victim to his farm he chopped off her head with a sickle and escaped. On interrogation, the accused told the police that he had spent close to two crores on the victim and her various expenses however he suspected that she was having a relationship with another man

After they returned, the woman went downstairs and pretended to look for her daughter. She took her younger son to a nearby temple and adjacent lanes to search for the girl. Meanwhile, her partner disposed off the blood-stained clothes and hid the knife in the woman's house. The crime came to light when neighbours told the police that they had noticed the girl's body on the terrace
