Two Mumbai drug peddlers were arrested in Versova area of Andheri after mephedrone (MD) drugs worth over Rs 2.40 crore was seized from them, Crime Branch officials said on Saturday, reported news agency ANI.
Around 1,020 grams of MD drugs was seized from them, they said, reported ANI.
According to Mumbai Crime Branch officials, a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the two Mumbai drug peddlers, reported ANI.
We are further looking into the case, they said, reported ANI.

Meanwhile, two Nigerians were arrested by Mumbai police's Anti Narcotics Cell from Aarey area of Goregaon with mephedrone worth Rs 17.40 lakh, reported PTI.
They allegedly supplied drugs in Vasai, Virar and Nalasopara areas of neighbouring Palghar district, an official said, reported PTI.
Earlier, the Ghatkopar Unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell made a significant arrest by apprehending two Nigerian drug peddlers in the Goregaon area, reported ANI.
The suspects were found in possession of MD drugs with an estimated value exceeding Rs 17 lakh in the international market, reported ANI.
Following the seizure, a case was registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, reported ANI.
Both individuals were presented in court, where they were remanded to police custody until February 6th. The arrested drug peddlers were reportedly involved in supplying drugs in Mumbai and Palghar districts, officials said, reported ANI.
In another case, the police have registered an offence against unidentified persons for allegedly pilfering raw material worth Rs 44.5 lakh from the godown of a firm supplying goods to pharmaceutical companies in Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said on Saturday, reported PTI.
Based on a complaint, a case under section 406 (criminal breach of trust) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Narpoli police station on Friday, the official said.
Raw materials stored in 16 drums were pilfered from the godown in the Rahnal area of Bhiwandi between October and November 2023, he said, reported PTI.
The theft came to light when 13 drums were supplied to a pharmaceutical company, and it was found that the containers had been tampered with, and the stock was replaced with an alternative substance, the official said, reported PTI.
A probe is underway, and no arrests have been made in this regard so far, he said.
