A 45-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district on Saturday afternoon, a police official said.
The victim, identified as Savita Salve, is a civic employee, the Bhiwandi Town police station official said.

"Some persons came to her home and stabbed her to death. A police team is at the site and efforts are on to nab the accused," Senior Inspector CR Kakade said.
