They say a father should always have his son's back, and this father-son duo from Kalyan took the adage quite literally. The Thane Police Crime Branch has arrested a 62-year-old man who would ride pillion and snatch chains, while his 38-year-old son drove the bike expertly in and out of traffic.
The duo, Asif Shabbir Sayed and his son Bagar, were arrested earlier this month by the Unit V of the Thane Crime Branch. Officials said that they are behind at least 12 cases of chain snatching and two instances of motorcycle theft that were currently under investigation - which have been solved with their arrest - and also have a lengthy past record.
