Thane police arrested three people for conspiring to murder a man and recovered a stash of firearms and explosives from them. The event occurred on Monday night near an auto-rickshaw stand in Ratandale village, which is located on the Mumbai-Agra highway.
According to the report, during the raid, investigators seized a surprising number of things, including three knives, a hand bomb, two gelatin sticks, a detonator, a motorcycle and a tempo. During interrogation, it was discovered that the group had reportedly planned to kill a resident. The targeted victim, a factory worker in Kalamgaon, allegedly mistreated one of the accused's sisters after her husband died.
Over the last two weeks, the accused procured the weapons and explosives with the sinister intention of ambushing the man during his journey back home from work. The trio, aged 30, 33, and 40, originating from Bhiwandi in Thane and Bhandup in Mumbai, planned the attack due to the perceived ill-treatment meted out to one of their relatives, the report added.
The authorities have filed a case against the three individuals under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal conspiracy (Section 120B), negligent conduct with explosive substances (Section 286), common intention (Section 34), and provisions of the Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act. Thane police took quick action to avoid a potentially deadly occurrence, protecting the intended victim and guaranteeing public safety in the neighbourhood, the PTI reported.

In another incident, two men were caught by police in Mumbai after allegedly forcing their way into a pub, carrying an unregistered pistol, and acting improperly with female customers. The event occurred in the early hours of Monday at an eatery in the Amboli neighbourhood of suburban Andheri.
According to a crime branch officer, the accused, a 23-year-old cable operator with six prior cases and a 56-year-old dry fruit merchant, entered the pub, allegedly intimidated its patrons, and participated in misbehaviour against female individuals. Following a comprehensive investigation of the pub's CCTV footage, police identified and detained the two perpetrators, who live in Mumbai's Malwani and Jogeshwari neighbourhoods. Additionally, the officials seized the handgun in their possession, stated a PTI report.
According to the report, the accused have been charged under multiple parts of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 341 (illegal restraint), Section 354 A (sexual harassment), and Section 509 (conduct intended to insult a woman's modesty), as well as applicable aspects of the Arms conduct.
