The Thane Police have registered a case against five men for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Thane district.
According to the police official, the incident took place at Gauralpada in Aghai village of Shahapur taluka before the Ganesh Chaturthi festival last month. As per the FIR, the girl did not specify the date of the offence.
"The accused took the girl to an isolated place at a ground where they allegedly raped her," the police official from the Thane district said.
The victim filed a complaint on Wednesday.

Following the case filed by the victim, the Shahapur police registered a case against five persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
"A probe was on into the case," the police added.
Meanwhile, in another incident, police have arrested a 47-year-old man and seized mephedrone worth Rs 7.75 lakh from his possession in Maharashtra's Palghar district, an official said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap at a location in Nalasopara area on Monday. The man later arrived there on a motorbike, senior police inspector Vijaysingh Bagal from Nalasopara police station said.
During checking, the police found a bag in which the man was carrying 77.50 gm of contraband worth Rs 7.75 lakh. The police also seized Rs 1.40 lakh in cash from him and also impounded his two-wheeler, he said.
