The stone used to beat Aniket
Omkar recalls, "I had uploaded a status on Facebook calling myself 'badshah' and Zagade assumed I had copied his status as he called himself 'king' sometime ago. Later, we argued about this on social media and they asked me to come meet them on Wednesday at an isolated area near the Sangram Durga Bhoikot fort. Accordingly, Aniket and I went to the spot around 10 pm. When we reached, we noticed all eight of them were in completely ready to beat us up. They had a pistol and axe with them."

He added, "We both decided to run. Aniket got trapped and they started assaulting him, crushed his head with a stone, stabbed him with axe and also held him at gunpoint. I went to rescue him, but they also hit me. When they found Aniket lying in a pool of blood, they went away."
Pradeep Pawar, senior inspector, Chakan police station said, "Aniket died on the spot while Omkar is out of danger. We have arrested three youths and are probing the case further. We are yet to recover the pistol and axe. The accused are school dropouts and had formed their own gang in the area."
