A 29-year-old guy was nabbed on Wednesday after police seized Rs 7 lakh worth of mephedrone from him in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Officers from the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) saw the Navi Mumbai man acting suspiciously near a garden in the Belapur neighbourhood on Tuesday night. They discovered 70 grams of mephedrone in his possession, valued around Rs 7 lakh, reported PTI.
According to the report, Soheb Mohammad Sayyed was arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The police are conducting an investigation to establish the origins of the drugs and their intended purchasers
In another incident last week, an official stated that two suspected drug dealers in Bhiwandi, in the Thane district of Maharashtra, had been nabbed by police for having mephedrone valued at Rs 8.25 lakh. According to him, the activity was done on Friday at around 3:30 am.

"The duo, identified as Mohammad Sudesh Abusaheba Ansari (22) and Vikas Dinesh Gupta (20), was spotted near a lodge at Babla Compound and mephedrone worth Rs 8,25,000 was seized from their possession," the police station's official stated.
He stated that the drug-peddler pair was later taken into custody and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and that an investigation was underway, stated the news agency.
In another case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted an interstate drug network by arresting two suspects at Thane's Kalyan Railway Station. They also confiscated 270 bottles of codeine syrup and 3,600 Nitrazepam tablets from them, according to ANI.
The NCB claims that the network's tentacles are dispersed throughout several states, including Karnataka and Maharashtra.
According to ANI, Additional Director NCB (Mumbai) Amit Ghawate made the following statement in a press release on Friday: "In a closely coordinated operation, NCB has successfully delivered yet another cracking blow to the interstate drug syndicate, which has led to the seizure of 3600 Nitrazepam tablets & 270 bottles of Codeine syrup for which two persons, including the local distributor and his key associate, have been arrested."
