In a recent operation, the Navi Mumbai police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) nabbed a 23-year-old guy in possession of 22 grammes of MDMA, worth an estimated Rs 5.50 lakh. The arrest occurred near a hotel gate in the Koparkhairne neighbourhood of Navi Mumbai, following a tip-off received by ANC authorities on Monday evening.
The accused, a resident of Kausa in the Mumbra area of Thane district, was apprehended during the operation, and the collected material was identified as MDMA, also known as Ecstasy. A case has been filed against the individual under the applicable sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Authorities are actively examining the case to establish the origin of the recovered medication and its intended recipient, reported PTI.
In another incident, a gang of thieves looted Rs 10 lakh from an ATM in Saoner town near Nagpur. According to a PTI report, CCTV footage showed that seven armed men, wielding swords, arrived in a four-wheeler.

The persons opened the ATM with a gas cutter and looted the cash early in the morning, the police told PTI.
According to the report, a case robbery has been registered and further investigation into the case is underway,
Meanwhile, in Amravati, two men robbed a home on the pretext of census. According to a PTI report, the two unidentified men posing as census surveyors on Tuesday looted valuables and cash worth Rs 5 lakh from a house in Amravati.
The report stated that the incident took place at an apartment in Rathi Nagar.
The culprits, according to the report, told a woman member of the family who was home alone, that they were conducting a census and asked her to get Aadhar cards.
When she went inside, the accused barged into the home, threatened her with a knife and looted valuables worth Rs 5 lakh before fleeing, The official added that an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested a Mumbai-based builder Lalit Tekchandani in connection with a cheating and forgery case. Tekchandani had allegedly fleeced 106 home buyers of over Rs 40 crore.
