The Mumbai Police arrested a man for stealing a car from a parking area inside Goregaon's housing society. Cops managed to arrest the accused with the help of the CCTVs installed on the Goregaon-Dahisar stretch.
According to a report in Times of India, victim Vrushank Potdar (33) last saw his car on February 7, when he parked it inside the society after returning home late at night from an event. Usually, Potdar parks his car inside his society at Vishveshwar Nagar in Goregaon East after coming back from work every day.
The family had purchased the vehicle in 2016, an official said. On February 18, the vehicle was missing from the parking space. After searching the vicinity and inquiring with the traffic police, Potdar approached the Vanrai police station and lodged a complaint of theft.
During the investigation, cops found that Potdar's society did not have a CCTV camera or any register maintained by the security guard to give them any lead for the said period.

The cops then checked the footage of dozens of cameras installed between Goregaon and Dahisar stretch and managed to spot the stolen vehicle at Dahisar. Acting on a tip-off, the Vanrai police laid a trap at Dahisar to check naka where the accused was supposed to arrive in the vehicle. The accused was chased and nabbed by the cops.
