A man killed his father and grandfather and then died by suicide at Mulund (West) on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at the Vasant Oscar building around between 8.30 am.
According to initial reports, the accused, identified as Shardul Mangale (22), is reportedly to be mentally unstable.
Shardul stabbed his bedridden grandfather Suresh Mangale in the stomach and then stabbed his father Milind Mangale, who was trying to escape. "They lived on the 6th floor of C wing in the complex. One of the bodies was found on the staircase between the 5th and 6th floor," said a police officer.
After stabbing his father and grandfather, Shardul jumped off the building.

The caretaker of Suresh, who was also present in the house, hid in the bathroom.
According to police, the neighbours saw Shardul stabbing his father. "We are yet to ascertain the reason behind the killings," said another police officer.
