Mumbai: Man held for putting girl’s number on porn site, sending her sex toys

The girl said that she did not suspect anything in the beginning as she thought it was a mistake and would send the parcels (containing sex toys) back

The Malad police have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly uploading a college student's number on a porn site and sending her sex toys by courier in revenge after she rejected his advances. Police said the girl approached them with a complaint in February after she started getting calls from people for sexual favours. Some unknown person even sent her sex toys through courier. All the orders were placed on a cash-on-delivery basis and the packages had her mobile number on them.

The girl said that she did not suspect anything in the beginning as she thought it was a mistake and would send the parcels back. However, when it became a regular affair, she opened one of them and found a sex toy. Then she approached the Malad police and filed a complaint. Under the supervision of senior inspector D Ligade, API Vivek Tambe and Ashok Konde from the cyber cell investigation was started.

Police said that it was difficult to trace the parcels, as all of them were placed on cash-on-delivery basis. "We approached the courier company and asked them to track down the sender. We also started looking for the IP address of the person who uploaded the girl's number on the porn site," said an officer from Malad police. Investigation revealed that the accused used VPN connections to book the parcels and each one of them was booked using a different IP address.

The officer further said, "We approached the net service provider and got the IP addresses of those who visited the website through which the sex toys were booked. We got more than 500 IP addresses. Then we asked for the list of IP addresses from which orders were placed for sex toys. This way we tracked down one IP address used by the accused and traced him." The accused, identified as Kunal Angolkar, has been arrested. He said after the girl rejected him he managed to get her number and uploaded it on the porn website.
