The police said Armaan Khurshid Shaikh is known for making dramatic videos
The railway police on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old man from Ghatkopar on the charge of doing a dangerous stunt on the edge of rail tracks and getting it filmed. Arman Kurshid Shaikh was taken into custody a day after mid-day published a report on his video.
According to the Government Railway Police, Shaikh believes potentially fatal acts can make him famous. He already faces a similar case.
The GRP launched a hunt for Shaikh after a video of him sitting dangerously close to rail lines went viral. In the clip, Shaikh appears to be holding a gun and enacts suicide.
When the cops first went to his home, he went underground. The police then put his locality under surveillance and arrested him when he visited his home on Thursday afternoon.

The police said Shaikh had made the video about a week ago near Andheri station. He told the police that he is fond of making such videos and sharing them on social media. The Park Site police had registered a case against him for posting a video of him performing bike stunts.
An officer from Andheri GRP said, "Arman Shaikh wants to make himself famous for which he keeps posting videos of him doing stunts." Senior Inspector Dattatray Nikam said Shaikh will be produced in a court on Friday.
Another GRP officer said, "Shaikh has been arrested under IPC section 188 [disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant] and Railway Police Act 147 [Trespass and refusal to desist from trespass]." Such videos can also inspire others to take the risk.
