A 20-year-old allegedly kidnapped and molested a minor at his home in Mumbai's Kandivali suburb after the girl blocked the accused on social media. Police sources said that the 14-year-old had blocked the accused on the photosharing site Instagram.
The sources said that the girl, a resident of Kandivali East, received a friend request from the man nearly a month ago. The two chatted for a little while; however, upon noticing his profile picture featuring alcohol, she terminated all communications by blocking him.
The youth, identified as Yash alias Saurabh, who is also a resident of Kandivali East had begun stalking the minor. On Saturday, at 10.30 am, as she left her school after an exam, she spotted the accused following her in a four-wheeler along with a friend.
As per his instructions, Saurabh's friend abducted the girl and they went to the accused's home where he molested her.

Upon her return, the accused's mother saw the girl in their home and rebuked her son. Thereafter, he let the minor go.
The minor's parents were preparing to report her disappearance when she returned home.
An officer from Samta Nagar Police station said, "The girl then informed her parents about the kidnapping and molestation ordeal. Upon hearing her, they approached the police and filed an FIR against the accused. He has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and under sections of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO)."
