A five-year-old girl, who had been allegedly abducted by his own uncle, was successfully traced and rescued by the Juhu Police in Mumbai from Jogeshwari Railway Station on Friday evening, the police said.
According to the police, the perpetrator had quarreled with the parents of the young girl and had allegedly orchestrated the kidnapping as an act of revenge.
The suspect was identified as Amrut alias Ajay Pawar, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Santacruz West, an official said.
The police said, the girl resides with his parents, a few days prior to the incident, the accused had visited their home as a guest, remaining there for three days. The Juhu Police promptly apprehended Pawar and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police officials said, the incident transpired on August 23, around 3 am, while the child was asleep at home. The accused, during this time, absconded with the child. At approximately 5 pm that morning, when the child's parents woke up, they discovered he was missing. A thorough search of the vicinity proved fruitless.
A police officer stated, "The parents promptly informed the authorities about the incident, leading to the registration of a kidnapping case against the suspect."
During the investigation, the police officials checked the CCTV footage in the vicinity, revealing that the perpetrator had transported the child from Santacruz to Andheri, then to Bandra railway station, and ultimately to Jogeshwari Railway Station. It was discovered that the accused had left the child on a footpath for a span of two days, the police said.
The police officials found out about the accused's whereabouts to Jogeshwari area and nabbed him from there. The officials were also successful in rescuing the child unhurt, the official said.
"Pawar is a garbage collector in the vicinity," mentioned a police officer, adding that "he has also admitted to kidnapping the child as an act of reprisal against the parents due to a previous altercation."
